- Preferential Matchmaking Vehicles in Update
As the feedback and testing showed, the reason you take these tanks onto the battlefield or bring them into your Garage in the first place is their preferential status and unique characteristics. In response to your comments, we went back to the drawing board to work on another round of adjustments. Here's a look at where the current setup is falling short and how the upcoming changes address those areas.
We'll kick-off the preferential tank revision by tweaking combat parameters. We originally set these parameters so tanks can play comfortably and competitively in Tier VIII-IX battles, where they are weaker than other machines in combat given their stats. With this in mind, at Tier X, these tanks would be ineffective, which is why they have preferential matchmaking. We will definitely look at their stats to ensure their effectiveness is comparable with the performance of Tier VIIIs and remain competitive in those battles.
Combat parameters will be improved to better suit the Tier spread, while also keeping their gameplay-defining characteristics intact. The vehicle receives significant improvements to all characteristics crucial for tank destroyers. Getting matched at the same position for several battles in a row slows progression and degrades the overall experience for all vehicles. As you can understand, to find the optimal solution will take some time about half a year and we ask for your patience.
We have already laid down a plan and work on the matchmaker is underway. We will give more information when we have it in a separate article. Share on social networks or discuss on the forum. Video Screenshots Art Renders Soundtrack. Failed to log in. With good pen and limited mm. I only wish it had better camo or gun handling.
That really wasn't the problem It is in fact 12k potential damage. True Stalinium eats shells for breakfast. It just eats them all. The amount of Stalinium on your tank is highly unstable though.

You better pray to Stalin himself to apply at least a smear of it around your tank. If you don't obey Stalin and if you dare to say SerB and his fellows eat crayons, you're forbidden to apply even a tiny teardrop of Stalinium on any of your tanks.

Rest, i dont care.. Keeping pref mm and geting significantly better, very nice. Interesting bit about the MM, I'm glad that they at least say it's the next thing to take care of after preferential tanks, so I can finally play tier 8 again. The T looks interesting, and wtf SP gets mm of pen while the T25 Pilot is still stuck with meeting t10's and mm?
To be fair, the T25 Pilot is also nearly infinitely more nimble when considering terrain resistances and overall much better gun handling. While it won't pen as many things, which the 10mm won't make too much of a difference, the pilot can also get around to weakspots much easier. True, but as the matlet is obsolete, and it relies on peek-a-boom playstyle, it still needs a buff. Right now they're virtually the same vehicle with different turret and armament.
So changing the engine will definitely differentiate between the vehicles. It's not just an engine swap; Type 59 is getting grossly significant armor buffs IIRC was something like 50mm thicker effective on the turret as well as significantly more effective armament, whereas T changes amount to quality-of-life and do next to nothing for its capability.
It's odd that T is basically only getting lip service whereas Type 59 is getting greatly, greatly buffed. Then again, same could be said of the T, which is grossly neglected compared to it's premium counterparts. T is also a much smaller vehicle with superior camo values.

It's true it's not the most amazing tank ever. But with such a turret face, camo, and speed, it's far, far, far away from being bad. T and T are there as T was originally balanced relative to T, only differing on two or three aspects. T is there specifically to showcase how it is somewhat P2W and the great powercreep that occured between T's release and now. Nobody seems to think that T specifically is grossly overpowered, but at most, slightly. Edelweiss is purely as a "what if? For starters, we can see that the aimtime has been crept the hardest. In no other aspect is T so far beyond.
We can also see that T is no longer the more agile, thick-turret version of a T, and is rather ponderous by comparison.
Even a small HP change like HP means quite a lot in terms of global average statistics, so this is yet another area where T is significantly behind. We can also see, with our terrain resistance shorthand, that T is significantly faster than T overall, showing the effects of P2W. It can be seen that Edelweiss is largely an improvement with only two drawbacks; camo and turret armor profile. If they buffed T to Edelweiss standards, I don't think any of us would be commenting on it c:.
Cruising speed doesn't affect too too much beyond active scouting and time to objective when you have a road. IMHO, I think simply buffing the aimtime not necessarily gun handling; to keep the max dispersion high and RoF would fix it. I know this is an old post, but I'd like to clarify that the Type 59 armour buffs were negligible at best. If you pull ed up the armour models on tanks. The turret only has mm armour just underneath the gun and mm around the gun but most of the front of the turret is mm this is direct thickness.
Especially since the T's gun mantlet was bigger and covered part of the "weakspot".

The only buff the Type 59 got to the turret was the mm and mm regions being buffed to mm. Not a huge difference IMO. The biggest difference now is the mobility. Interesting about the JgTig. Do they mean another 88 variant or something bigger? So they are going to create a new 8,8 variant for the JT88 so that they don't accidentally buff the Krupp WT too.

Probably another 88 unless they're gonna change its name. There's been rumors of a Jagdtiger H premium for awhile that's basically a stock jagdtiger, but I would assume they'd rather sell it as a second vehicle to make more money. Hoping they might do what they did with the recent kanon td and let you exchange the 8.
Welcome to Reddit,
From T point of view it's super funny how they constantly keep buffing already way better T that has pref MM on top of it. All the Buffs aside the mobility is still bad and the Armor on the T feels wonky at the best of times. Have you tried T? It might be little faster, but it's worse in literally everything else. Every T8 pen min should be on standard.

Under this amount is pointless pretty much in this meta. Or take away its derpy for a or better a with good Handling. The type 59 is fairly good now. Cannot wait for 1. My Clanmates got the Hype from the small Packages. I feel cheated tbh but hey it WG what do i expect. That is indeed correct. These changes are for the tanks to be better in their current MM without being stronger than the tanks that have full MM. At least that is the idea from WG.
The heat 59s gold round penetration needs to be dialed down commensurate to the buffs it is receiving. I mean everyone can think about pref MM what they want, but why is there no love for the t mod 1 while we still have it? The pen is fine in a medium. You're not supposed to charge hull down top tier heavies head on, it's not rocket science. Putting it as a bottom tier against IX and X means you can't use your armor and you can't pen anything unless you flank it.
True but there are regular tanks like Pershing or T with the same penetration. WG loves buffing armour and introducing new heavily armoured tanks but very rarely they buff penetration. It doesn't cut it against XI an X with at least some armour but tier 6 and 7 tanks don't pen it easily as well. It's OP and UP at the same time. At least that's my impression, but I never played it.
